Who is Akanksha Puri?

Akanksha Puri is an Indian actor and model, known for her work in Hindi TV shows. She is best known for her role as Parvati in ‘Vighnaharta Ganesha’. Singer Mika Singh, after much fanfare, chose Akanksha Puri as his wife on ‘Swayamvar: Mika Di Vohti’, the reality show. 

Earlier, Puri had shared a video with singer Mika Singh sparking marriage rumours. The video showed the two seeking blessings at a gurudwara. “Seeking blessings @mikasingh,” Akanksha captioned the video, along with hashtags like #yearsoftogetherness #feelingblessed #togetherforlife. The singer shared the video on his Instagram stories.

Akanksha is a 32-year-old actor who hails from Madhya Pradesh. She made her debut in 2013 with the film ‘Alex Pandian’ which was a Tamil movie. She made her Bollywood debut with filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar’s movie ‘Calendar Girls’, which released in 2015. She then went on to do a few South Indian movies. The movie is based upon the story of 5 girls and their journey as an annual calendar girl.

She has worked in multi-lingual movies from Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada to Hindi. She appeared in the T-series video song ‘Chitthi’ with Jubin Nautiyal. In 2017, she also worked with Shreya Singhal in the video song ‘Jahaan Tum Ho’. 

Akanksha Puri did her schooling from Indore. Her father, R.K Puri is a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and her mother is a housewife. She worked as an air hostess for Kingfisher Airlines before becoming an actress. 

Akanksha, however, came to the limelight last year after she was mentioned by ‘Bigg Boss 13′ contestant and her ex-boyfriend Paras Chhabra several times during the season. Paras found love in co-contestant Mahira Sharma and told Salman Khan and his housemates that he wanted to break up with Akanksha.

This led to the former couple washing dirty linen in public. Akanksha eventually broke up with Paras.
