A year after controversy, Kim Seon-ho is anticipated to return to small-screen historical romance drama, Hash’s Shinru. According to his agency, “Actor Kim Seon Ho has received an offer to star in the drama ‘Hash’s Shinru,’ and he is positively in talks.”

King Sejong will apparently be played by Kim Seon-ho in Hash’s Shinru. Since being accused of emotionally abusing his ex-girlfriend and pressuring her to get an abortion last year, the actor has kept a relatively quiet profile. The star apologised and was thereafter dropped from various advertisements and shows.

Who is Kim Seon-ho?

Kim Seon-ho, a South Korean actor was born on May 8, 1986, in Seoul, South Korea. Kim Seon-ho is the son of former Austrian ambassador Kim Jong Min. The actor studied at the Seoul Institute of Arts and graduated from the Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment.

He joined a theatre group in college and started performing in plays. Director Lee Eun-jin, who had seen him perform in the play Closer, noticed him and suggested he audition for the KBS office drama. This move launched his career in television, and he made his screen debut at the beginning of 2017 with a supporting role in the KBS2 office drama Chief Kim (aka Good Manager). Kim Seon-ho first tried out for a little part in Strongest Deliveryman (2017) but was subsequently cast in a major role.

In the 2019 comedy-drama Welcome to Waikiki 2, the Korean actor portrayed an aspiring singer. The same year, he co-starred in the drama Catch the Ghost alongside actor Moon Geun-young.

Kim Seon-ho received the outstanding actor award in the category of Korean drama series at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2022 for his work in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021) on tvN, receiving 53.39 percent of the total vote. The 36-year-old also won the Most Popular Actor award at the Baeksang Arts Awards in 2021.

Seon-ho had a breakout year in 2020. He was cast in the highly anticipated series Start-Up, alongside Suzy Bae and Nam Joo Hyuk. His portrayal of Han Ji Pyeong pushed him to international fame.
