Rajinikanth’s
fans have staged a demonstration at Valluvar Kottam in Chennai to request the
star to retract his decision to not join politics, ANI reported.

Last
month, the superstar announced
his plans to launch his long awaited political party in January.

However, days before
launch, the 70-year-old actor suffered from high blood pressure and underwent
treatment for three days, following which he canceled his plans.

“I see this as a
warning given to me by the Lord. If I campaigned only through the media and social
media after I started the party, I would not be able to create the political
upheaval among people and win big in the elections. No one with political experience
will deny this reality,” he wrote in a statement.

Now,
thousands of his fans, who are members of Rajinikanth’s fan club, have come together to
request the actor to not abandon his political plans. This comes after the Chennai police permitted
them to stage the demonstration.
