Talking about medal chances ahead of the Commonwealth Games 2022, Paul said,“Compared to other championships, medal chances are high here. And I think my teammates will be my main challengers. But it’s not about 17m or 18, it’s about consistency and experience overall. International events are very different from Nationals. The Worlds gave me valuable experience. If I can repeat that body condition here, I can win medal.”
Eldhose Paul comes from Kerala. He is employed with the Indian Navy and represents Services in the domestic completions. He was trained by M Harikrishnan at the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Bengaluru.
“It is about gradually progressing so that when the big events come around, you can produce your best performance. It is a big year with the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games as well as the World Championships. Having produced these jumps and knowing that I can do better, there is belief that I can finish on the podium at the Asian Games. It’s all about training hard and staying focused,” Paul had said.
