“Indian Ocean: Ecology, Economy, Epidemic” was the topic of the Indian Ocean Conference 2021. Senior officials from Indian Ocean littoral countries will discuss regional challenges in pre-conference seminars and plenary sessions over two days, according to the India Foundation.

Around 200 delegates and around 50 speakers from 30 countries will attend. President of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa will deliver the inaugural address, according to the think-tank.

The conferences will be held in partnership with RSIS Singapore, Sri Lanka’s Institute of National Security Studies, and the UAE’s Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, according to the statement.
