South African comedian, TV show host, actor Trevor Noah in March hosted the 63rd edition of the Grammy Awards. He is famous for his show ‘The Daily Show’, a satirical news program on Comedy Central. Noah hosted the event from downtown Los Angeles.

On hosting the 63rd edition of Grammy, Noah said, “If you get asked to host the Grammys, I don’t think you take long to say ‘yes.’ All you figure out is the how,” the Associated Press quoted.

‘The Daily Show’ host has earlier been nominated for Grammy award in 2019 in the Best Comedy Album category for his show ‘Son of Patricia’.

Noah’s ‘The Daily Show’ has won Emmy and Peabody Award. The South African had joined the show with Jon Stewart in 2014 as a contributor. 

Noah has won a Primetime Emmy Award from nine nominations in 2020. The 37-year-old was among ‘The 35 Most Powerful People in New York Media’ in 2017 and 2018 by The Hollywood Reporter and he was also named one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2018 by Time magazine.

He started his career in 2002 in Africa as a comedian, television host, and actor and he relocated to the US in 2011. On January 6, 2012, Noah appeared on The Tonight Show, becoming the first South African stand-up comedian to do so. He also appeared on Late Show with David Letterman on May 17, 2013, the first South African comedian to do so.
