Several Bollywood stars on Monday
sent across warm Holi wishes to their fans on social media. The list of
Bollywood actors and icons alike included names such as Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik
Roshan, Karishma Kapoor, Preity Zinta, and Pankaj Tripathi. While some chose colours,
others chose to post throwback Holi pictures of themselves from previous years.

Actor Preity Zinta, for one, did not
hold herself back from playing Holi, as her post displayed herself alongside
husband Gene Goodenough.

“#HappyHoli May this festival of
colours add the colour of happiness, health & positivity to all our lives.
Feels strange 2 have No Holi celebration this yr due 2 d pandemic..so I’m
putting up some previous Holi pics 2 keep d spirit of Holi alive”, she tweeted
out.

Amitabh Bachchan, on the other hand, posted a throwback
picture on Twitter.

“Rang barse bheegey chunar wali rang
barse”, Big B captioned the post after a line from an immensely popular Holi
song featuring himself from Silsila (1981).

Karishma Kapoor, on the other hand,
went completely virtual, as she used effects to colour a black-and-white photo
of herself on Instagram.

Hrithik Roshan chose a different way to
express his wishes on Twitter. Posting a gif containing the alphabet ‘O’ with
horns that eventually turns into a smiling face and the phrase ‘Happy Holi’, the
image was described below as ‘the triumph of good over evil’.

“Sunday special Holi special”, said
veteran actor Pankaj Tripathi on Instagram, posting a picture of himself
alongside his wife Mridula Tripathi.

“No bigger joy than festivities with those who are a
part of you #HoliHappiness #StaySafe #FamilyFun”, wrote actor Akshay Kumar on Instagram with his daughter Nitara.

Holi in 2021 was largely distanced and to some extent restricted in India due to a rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country. Several states had announced regulative measures to curb possible spreading of the coronavirus through physical contact, and many chose to revel in the celebrations through posting older pictures of themselves.
