Bhagavad Gita, PM Modi’s photo onboard: Interesting facts about ISRO’s PSLV-C51 mission

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched PSLV-C51 rocket along with Brazilian Amazonia-1 as the primary satellite from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Paradesh’s Sriharikota at 10 am on Sunday.

Congratulating Brazil, India’s co-partner the mission, ISRO cheif K Sivan said, India and ISRO feel proud to launch Brazil’s Amazonia-1 satellite along with  PSLV-C51.

Here are some fascinating facts about India’s PSLV-C51 mission:

PSLV-C51 launch is the first dedicated PSLV commercial for NSIL and third flight of PSLV-DL. 

The PSLV-C51 is the 78th launch vehicle mission from SDSC SHAR.

PSLV-C51 is the third flight with ‘DL’ variant, which means the rocket was equipped with two solid strap-on boosters. 

It is India’s first launch of the year.

PSLV-C51 is the 53rd mission of PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle).

The rocket was launched with 18 co-passenger satellites.

A nanosatellite attached with Isro’s PSLV-C51 carried a copy of Bhagavad Gita in the form of an SD card and a photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to space.
