It’s also worth noting that on this day, Shivaji was granted the titles of ‘Shakakarta,’ which translates to ‘founder of an era,’ and ‘Chhatrapati,’ respectively (paramount sovereign).

On Saturday, Sambhaji Chhatrapati, the 13th direct descendant of Shivaji and a Member of Parliament, commemorated the day by posting a highly rare snapshot of a Shivaji-era coin known as ‘Hoan’ on social media.
In a tweet, he said, “This year’s Shivrajyabhishek Ceremony will be blessed by the presence of a rare coin ‘Hoan’, which is part of the antiques of Shivaji Maharaj’s era.”
“The sovereignty and wealth of Swarajya founded by Shivaji Maharaj were embodied by ‘Hoan.’ It is more than a piece of paper; it is a sign of our shared pride, a real national treasure. This antiquity, discovered in the pious soil of Raigad, will be there at this momentous event “he added.
Shivaji created history during his lifetime by fighting in some of the Maratha empire’s most important wars.
