Delhi Capitals on Thursday made a
record while playing against Rajasthan Royals. The team, playing its second IPL
match, was not able to hit a single six throughout its entire innings.

While
a total of six batsmen in the DC batting order could not even cross single-digit
score, the innings marked the first time for any side to not hit even a single
six at the Wankhede stadium.

While a 51-run innings from Rishabh Pant and
supporting roles from Lalit Yadav (20 off 24 balls) and Tom Curran (21 off 16
balls) made for a respectable attempt at setting the first innings score, a
solid performance by Rajasthan Royals bowlers ensured fall of wickets at regular
intervals as well as a lackluster batting display from DC largely without any
dominance factor.

As many as 47 dot balls were bowled in the
first innings, with the Delhi top order, including Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya
Rahane, and Shikhar Dhawan, failing to make a mark.

The Capitals’ Australian
middle order recruit Marcus Stoinis too was unsuccessful, leaving with 0 runs
after playing five balls.

Expectedly, the unwanted record raised
some noise on Twitter, with many fans and cricket statisticians pointing out the
fact on the social media platform.
