After the conclusion of the meeting, farmers have decided to continue their protest at the Singhu (Delhi-Haryana) border and meet daily in that location from here on, reported ANI.

Harinder Singh, General Secretary of Bhartiya Kisan Union, Punjab told ANI, “It has been decided that we’ll continue our protest here and will not go anywhere else. We will meet at 11 am every day to discuss our strategy.”

Earlier, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the government has agreed to hold talks with the farmer outfits. He said, “Government is ready for talks with farmer unions to resolve their issues. We have invited them for talks on December 3.”

He added, “I hope that they will come to the meeting. I urge political parties not to play politics in the name of farmers.”

Despite being offered a site in north Delhi to hold their protest, thousands of farmers gathered at the Singhu border and decided on Saturday morning to continue demonstrating there.

A farmer leader said, “We will not move from here (Singhu Border) and continue our fight. We will not return home. Thousands of farmers have come from Punjab and Haryana to join the protest.”

Farmers have been protesting against the Centre’s newly implemented farm bills that detractors suggest will remove the Arthiyas system and the Minimum Support Price.
