Farmers’ protest Day 72 highlights: Flowers in response to barricades, nails at Ghazipur
- Pop singer Rihanna, environmentalist Greta Thunberg have tweeted in support of farmers' protest
- "If some foreigner is supporting the movement, then what is the problem," said BKU leader Rakesh Tikait
- Farmers are protesting against the Centre's three farm laws
The ongoing protests by farmers against the Centre’s three farm laws has entered day 72 on Friday. Thousands of farmers are protesting at Delhi’s borders against the law, which they claim, would lead to corporatisation of the agriculture sector.
Two days after pop singer Rihanna’s tweet on farmers’ protest sent social media into frenzy, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Thursday, asked “If some foreigner is supporting the movement, then what is the problem.”
Although the ongoing protests were impacted badly by the violence that erupted during the farmers’ Republic Day tractor rally, however, Tikait emotional outburst last week reignited the stir.
