Forbes’ list of richest people in US features 7 Indian-Americans

The 2020 Forbes list of 400 Richest People in America features seven Indian-Americans. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, for the third time in a row, is at the top of the list.
Top ranked Bezos, 56, has a net worth of US$ 179 billion, while Bill Gates is placed at the second spot with a net worth of US$ 111 billion. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder, is on the third spot with a net worth of US$ 85 billion.
Wealth of the richest people in the US continued to grow despite the coronavirus pandemic affecting the country’s economy adversely.

“Pandemic be damned: America’s 400 richest are worth a record USD 3.2 trillion, up USD 240 billion from a year ago, aided by a stock market that has defied the virus…Even in these trying times mega-fortunes are still being minted,” news agency PTI quoted Forbes, as saying.
The rich list also features seven Indian-Americans. Cybersecurity firm ZScaler CEO Jay Chaudhry, founder and chairman of Symphony Technology Group Romesh Wadhwani, cofounder and CEO of online home goods retailer Wayfair Niraj Shah, Silicon Valley venture capital firm Khosla Ventures founder Vinod Khosla, managing partner of Sherpalo Ventures Kavitark Ram Shriram, Airline veteran Rakesh Gangwal and Workday CEO and cofounder Aneel Bhusri are in the list.
US President Donald Trump, who is seeking a second term this year, is placed 339th on the list with a net worth of US$ 2.5 billion, the report said.
