A couple of days after he was detained on his way to Hathras, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will again attempt to visit the gangrape victim’s family on Saturday. A team of Congress MPs headed by Rahul Gandhi will start from Delhi for Hathras in the afternoon.

“No power in the world can stop me from meeting and sharing the pain of the Hathras family,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted in Hindi today morning.

Both Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi had attempted to visit Hathras on Thursday, but their convoy was stopped at the Yamuna Express in Greater Noida. The top Congress leaders were also briefly detained following tussle with the cops. Rahul Gandhi was pushed to the ground during the scuffle with the incident being aired live on news channels.

“Why are you arresting me? What are the grounds for the arrest? What law am I violating,” the former Congress president was seen asking the police offcials.

Later in the day, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police filed an FIR against Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi and around 200 other party workers under The Epidemic Diseases Act for not maintaining social distancing and not wearing face masks.
