Rishabh Pant undergoes plastic surgery after accident, PM Modi prays for cricketer

Rishabh Pant, Indian wicketkeeper-batter, met with a
brutal road accident in Haridwar while he was returning from Uttarakhand to
Delhi in his car. According to the reports, Pant’s car crashed into a divider
and he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Later, he was shifted to
Max Hospital in Dehradun.

Currently, he is getting treated for his injuries and the
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered the officials to
ensure that the cricketer gets all the required help to get better.

Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi prayed for
the good health and speedy recovery of the cricketer. “Distressed by the
accident of noted cricketer Rishabh Pant. I pray for his good health and
well-being. @RishabhPant17,” Modi said in a tweet. He also called Pant’s
family to check on his health update.

 Pant had undergone plastic surgery as he had
some facial injuries. An MRI scan for the brain and spinal cord was conducted
and the results are normal, reported ESPNcricinfo.

A video of the 25-year-old cricketer lying on the ground
beside the burning car after the gruesome accident has surfaced on the
internet. In the video, he can be seen with two boys, who were helping the
cricketer after the accident.

Pant was extracted from the car, according to Haryana
Roadways bus driver Sushil, who was the first person at the scene of the
collision to arrive and act. Sushil recognized Pant and stated that he was severely
hurt and limping as a result of the accident. He ran to the burning car to
rescue Rishabh by smashing the window.

Pant is not included in any ODI and T20Is squad for the Sri
Lanka white ball matches. He was soon to leave for National Cricket Academy
(NCA) in Bengaluru for a fifteen-day camp where he would treat his niggle in
the knee. Pant had recently returned from Bangladesh after he played 2 Test
matches there for India, which the national team won 2-0.
