Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has finally put pen to paper and signed for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr FC. The club has announced the news on social media.

This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome @Cristiano to your new home @AlNassrFC”.

Ronaldo’s destination after his second stint at Manchester United came to a bitter end was one of the hotly debated topics in the world of football. The 37-year-old striker had lashed out against the Red Devils in an interview with British TV host Piers Morgan, which sealed his exit from the club.

He had taken an exception to United manager Erik ten Hag constantly benching him in their matches. However, Portugal manager Fernando Santos chose to do the same during the World Cup, prompting criticism from Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was seen crying in the tunnel after the match.

Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes had been desperately looking for a way of out United after the latter failed to qualify for the 2022-23 Champions League. Regarding Ronaldo’s situation at United, Axel Hellman, the CEO of Eintracht Frankfurt, had told DAZN, “Ronaldo was even offered to us,” further adding, “I have the feeling he was offered to every Champions League club.”

It is now likely that Ronaldo’s days at the elite level of football have now drawn to an end. He ends his Champions League career as its highest scorer as well as assist provider. He has 141 Champions League goals and 42 assists. This means that his eternal rival, Lionel Messi, who has 129 goals and 40 assists in the competition, can cross him in the near future.
