Former Royal Challenger Bangalore owner Vijay Mallya’s decade-old tweet on Nita Ambani went viral ahead of Mumbai Indians’ game against Delhi Capitals. Mumbai would have to beat Delhi on Saturday for Bangalore to secure a playoff spot. 

After the IPL mega auction in February 2013, Mallya congratulated Nita Ambani for picking the best team.

“In my view d best buys in d IPL auction were executed by d Mumbai Indians. They clearly hv d finest squad of players. Congrats Nita bhabi,” Mallya had tweeted.

The tweet went viral ahead of Mumbai vs Delhi game, with fans reacting hilariously to the same. 

RCB are on 16 points, fourth rung of the table, and DC are on 14 points. If Rishabh Pant’s men beat MI on Saturday, they will leapfrong RCB and secure a playoff berth. 

Earlier in the day, RCB changed its profile picture on social media to show support for Rohit Sharma and co. 

Bangalore defeated table-toppers Gujarat Titans earlier this week to keep their playoffs hopes alive.

After their win against Gujarat Titans, Virat Kohli and RCB skipper Faf du Plessis had said that they are banking on Mumbai. 

“There are a couple of blue hats floating around our dressing room for the next couple of days. I am banking on Rohit (Sharma) to go big,” Du Plessis said.

Kohli, during a chat with Faf du Plessis, said, “We have two more supporters for Mumbai Indians on the 21st, not just two, I think 25 more supporters.”

Dinesh Karthik posted a throwback picture from his time at the Mumbai Indians camp.
