‘The Family Man’ star Samantha Akkineni and her actor husband Naga Chaitanya on Saturday announced that they were parting ways. The two in a statement posted on social media said that they have ‘decided to pursue our own paths’.
“To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support,” Samantha and Naga Chaitanya wrote in their posts.
The couple, married in 2017, are well-known names in the Telegu film industry.
Who is Naga Chaitanya?
Winner of some of the biggest awards in the South India film industry including Filmfare Award South for Best Debut, Nandi Award for Best Supporting Actor and SIIMA award for Best Actor Critics, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya made his debut with ‘Josh’ in 2009.

After starring in autham Menon-directed ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’ in 2010, Chaitanya played the lead in successful films such as ‘100% Love’ (2011), ‘Manam’ (2014), ‘Premam’ (2016), ‘Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo’ (2016), ‘Rarandoi Veduka Chudham’ (2017), ‘Majili’ (2019), ‘Venky Mama’ (2019) and ‘Love Story’ (2021).
Chaitanya starred in period-drama ‘Manam’ alongside grandfather, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, and father, Nagarjuna
Talking about his performance, Deccan Chronicle wrote, “Naga Chaitanya has done a decent job and compared to his earlier films he matured a lot as an actor.”

He acted alongside wife Samantha Akkineni in 2019 film ‘Majili’.
The Telugu boarded the cast of Aamir Khan-led “Laal Singh Chaddha” and started shooting for the film in Kargil with the Bollywood star in July.
The movie is an official remake of Hollywood veteran Tom Hanks’ 1994 feature “Forrest Gump”, which follows the life of a slow-witted but kind-hearted man.
