Independence Day
is celebrated on July 14 every year with great fervor. French
revolutionaries stormed the prison on this day to revolt against the rule of
the king and free the prisoners.

French celebrate this day with family and
friends, along with some great food and wine. France remains a world leader in
terms of producing every style of wine, using indigenous grape varieties.
France is also the second-largest producer of wine after Italy, producing 43.9
million hectoliters in 2020.
