1. Caviar
Caviar is basically fish eggs that are known to be one of the world’s supreme delicacies.
The white caviar is sold for around $34,500 per kilogram which is somewhere around Rs 25 lakhs Indian rupees. This fish that produced this rare caviar apparently, lived in the Caspian Sea, but now they are almost extintc in their native environment.

2. Wagyu Beef
Wagyu beef simply translates to “Japanese Beef”. This rare beef comes from any four different breeds of Japanese cow. The price of this beef is somewhere around Rs 40,000 per kg. The cows must be reared and fed following strict guidelines to qualify for the Wagyu mark. The meet is known for its intensely marbled fat that renders down during the cook process. The meat is super moist, soft and melts in the mouth.
3. Matsutake Mushrooms
This is the world’s most expensive mushroom amounting up to $600 per kg which if converted to Indian rupees will stand at Rs 43,985. Matsutake mushrooms also originates from Japan. The rare variety of mushrooms has a unique – sweet yet spicy flavour. Cultivating this mushroom is not easy as it is only harvested once a year and there is always a fear of pinewood nematode worm destroying their entire habitat.

4. Kopi Luwak
Kopi Luwak is the world’s most costliest variety of coffee. Bags of kopi luwak sell for up to $700 per kg. Kopi Luwak translates to civet coffee. It is made from coffee beans that is consumed, partly digested and defecated by the civet cat or Asian pam civet.
5. Moose Cheese
Moose Cheese is certainly one of the most stolen items of the world. It is one of the most expensive varieties of cheese found in the world. It is produced at Moose House Farm in Sweden and is prepared with 5 litres of milk produced by each moose everyday, starting from May to September. Only milk of – Gullan, Haelga, and Juno is used in making Moose Cheese. Around 300kg of cheese per year can be sold by the farm which will cost somewhere around $1074 per kilogram (Indian rupees Rs 78,734).
