Amidst the resignations of two of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s senior cabinet members, an incredibly funny tweet of the Downing Street cat handing in his resignation provided some light relief on social media during the chaotic hour.
Larry, the cat, was pictured in front of Downing Street sharing his resignation message in a social media post.

As citizens questioned Johnson’s position as Prime Minister and whether he had the support of the top cabinet team, the 15-year-old tabby at 10 Downing Street expressed his adorable unhappiness to calm the frenzy that unfolded.
In a subsequent tweet, the profile also shared a video of the cat attempting to enter the Prime Minister‘s residence but having the front door shut on him, leaving him locked out.

Social media was flooded with messages for Larry. One user said “The UK Government is in serious trouble when even Larry the Cat is considering his position of being associated with the Prime Minister,” while another wrote- “Even Larry’s struggling to stay PAWsitive.”

Boris Johnson’s finance and health secretaries, as well as a number of ministers, resigned on Tuesday. According to reports, more than 20 members of the government have resigned in protest of Mr Johnson’s leadership in the last 24 hours.
Finance Minister Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid said they could no longer tolerate the scandal culture that has followed Mr Johnson for months, including lockdown lawbreaking in Downing Street that enraged the public who followed the Covid-19 rules.

Sunak stated in his resignation letter that “the public rightly expect the government to be conducted properly, competently and seriously. … I believe these standards are worth fighting for and that is why I am resigning.”
The party needed “humility, grip, and a new direction,” according to Javid, but “it is clear this situation will not change under your leadership.”
