Dog owner books entire business class cabin for pet

We often see people showing their pets with love and attention. In one such heart-warming incident, a dog owner booked an entire business class cabin of a flight for his spoilt pet so that the canine can travel in true luxury and privacy.

The dog owner booked all 12 Business Class seats of an Air India operated Airbus A320 aircraft from Mumbai and Chennai for his Maltese snowy furball. The owner reportedly spent over Rs 2.5 lakh for the two-hour-long flight. The fare for a business class seat on the flight is around Rs 20,000. The dog boarded the flight early on Wednesday morning.

“The J-class cabin on Air India A320 aircraft has 12 seats, so the cute pup flew in luxury,” the source told Times of India. 

As per reports, Air India allows a passenger to travel with two pets. Based on the size of the animal, they can be in the cabin or in the cargo hold. The pets are allowed depending upon the availability of a health and rabies vaccination certificate.

“Pet animals can be carried as an accompanied baggage or shipped as Cargo. Bookings can be made for pets as Accompanied Baggage / Excess Baggage through Air India Reservations. Pets will be carried at an additional charge and will not be included in the Free Baggage Allowance, even if the passenger has no other baggage,” Air India’s official website states.

In the business class, pets are seated in the last row of the cabin. According to the rules, a label will be affixed on the container showing the name of the pet, a moisture absorbent mat must be placed in the container, dog must be properly muzzled and leashed.”
