How a 10-storey building was constructed in 28 hours

  • A China-based manufacturing company managed to construct a 10-storey building in 28 hours
  • The developer of the building shared a nearly five-minute-long video on its YouTube channel
  • The video showed that the modules were being stacked on top of each other using crane

It often takes time to construct a building or a skyscraper.
However, a 10-story residential building in China’s Changsha city was built in
just 28 hours and 45 minutes.

So, how did they manage to pull it off? A report
by New Atlas in June says, it is the technology of pre-fabricated construction
systems, wherein the building is constructed by utilizing small self-contained
modular units that were built in advance in a factory.

The video showed that the modules were being stacked on top
of each other using cranes. Once this was done, workers started joining the
modules together using bolts and also installed electricity and water
connection along with furnishing.

The New Atlas report also said that at least three cranes
were needed to speed up the construction of the 10 story building in Changsha
but the number of builders on site were low. Broad Group has said the building
is earthquake resistant and can also be disassembled and moved to another
location.

Broad Group is known for completing significant projects in
double-quick time. In 2015, the company accomplished another “speed-build”
challenge, constructing a 57-story tower using the “Living Building system”. It
was completed in just 19 days, Construction reported.
