It is served in a wooden carved box, lit with a nitrogen base. The dish is served with a side of sweet potato fries and mint lemonade. The pav is available for dine-in only.

Not only Dubai, New York is also on the list of places selling gold plated dishes. Serendipity 3, a restaurant in New York holds the records for the most expensive ice cream sundae ($1,000) and world’s most expensive portion of French fries. The portion of fries at this restaurant costs a whopping $200.

Guinness World Record has certified the tremendous feat and the fries are officially the most expensive on Earth as of July 13.

Prepared with Chipperbec potatoes, the fires are called the ‘Crème de la Crème Pommes Frites’. They are blanched, or scalded, in vinegar and champagne. Then they are fried in pure goose fat, not oil, first once and then again, so that they are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

The fries are sprinkled with edible gold and seasoned with truffle salt and truffle oil. They are served on a crystal plate with an orchid, thin-sliced truffles, and a Mornay cheese dip. The sauce is infused with truffles, a rare seasonal mushroom.

Creative director and chef Joe Calderone said, “Serendipity is a really happy place. People come here to celebrate, to really escape the reality of life sometimes.”

“It’s been a rough year and a half for everyone, and we need to have some fun now,” said Calderone.
