The match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals has been rescheduled after 2 CSK staff members tested positive for COVID, reports PTI quoting BCCI sources. The match was to be played in the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday. Delhi is hosting Mumbai Indians vs SunRisers Hyderabad clash this evening.
As per the Board’s Standard Operating Procedure, anyone who has come in contact with an infected person has to undergo six days of hard quarantine and return three negative RT-PCR reports during the course of it.
“Tomorrow’s match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium between CSK and RR will be rescheduled as per SOP rules. As Balaji was in contact with the players, all of them have gone into hard quarantine. They are supposed to be tested everyday,” a senior BCCI official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
The move comes a day after the game between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders was rescheduled. The BCCI hasn’t announced new dates for both the games, and could have a scheduling nightmare on their hands. The tournament goes on till May 30 and there are no off days.
