Elias Theodorou: Know about UFC fighter’s age, family, net worth and cause of death

Elias Theodorou, a star of the UFC, passed away at the age of 34 after a fight with liver cancer. Throughout his career, the MMA fighter competed for the biggest promotion in the sport 11 times, winning eight of those matches and losing only three.

The Canadian athlete ceased competing for Dana White in 2019 and opted to compete in local competitions. His previous match was against American Bryan Baker in December. Theodorou declined to disclose his condition to the public, but rumours said he was suffering stage 4 liver cancer.

The confirmation of his death came yesterday, and tributes poured in from around the world of mixed martial arts for the middleweight, who was ranked 13 before his contract expired in 2019.

Theodorou, who is of Greek descent, was born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, and attended Meadowvale Secondary School.

Theodorou and his ex-girlfriend, retail manager Max Altamuro, who lives and works in Toronto, competed in the third season of The Amazing Race Canada. They finished 12th in their current home city of Toronto and were the race’s first team to be eliminated. Theodorou also worked as a “ring boy” for Invicta Fighting Championships, an all-female MMA promotion.

Net Worth

According to Idolnetworth, Theodorou has a total net worth of $3 million. Theodorou competed in 11 fights for the lucrative UFC, earning more than $450,000 solely from fight payouts. He received $42,500 for his victory over Sam Alvey at UFC Fight Night: MacDonald vs. Thompson. Elias has stated that he makes far more money from supports than from battles.

According to Celeb ideas, he received $45,000 for his victory over Cezar Ferreira on February 19, 2017, and also receives a sizable sum from supporters outside of the UFC.

Shannon Knapp, president of the Invicta Fighting Championships, also expressed her heartfelt condolences, writing on Instagram, “You were such a beautiful soul. Always so kind and such a bright light in this world.” Theodorou’s MMA career began in 2011 and he quickly emerged as a hot prospect within the sport, winning eight consecutive fights.

After winning the Ultimate Fighter Nations tournament prior to his professional career, his talent quickly brought him to the attention of the UFC.
