Kylian Mbappe, the top scorer of the FIFA World Cup 2022 with five goals, missed training with the France squad on Tuesday due to an ankle injury. It has sparked concern in the French squad on whether he will be available for the quarter-final clash against England on Sunday, December 11.

However, as per the latest update on his injury, the 23-year-old PSG forward is back in training with France. When asked about why he did not join the training on Tuesday, the French coaching staff had told the media that he doing recovery work in the gym and as a result, he was not seen training with the rest of the team.

Defender Ibrahima Konate said in a press conference Wednesday that there is nothing to worry about Mbappe and he will be back.

“He preferred to stay indoors. We are counting on him as on all the players in the group,” Konate said. “It was a little recovery session. The day before, we had a day off. I think he decided to stay indoors with the coach, there is nothing to worry about.”

Later on Wednesday, Sky Sports shared footage from France’s training session where Mbappe was seen training with the rest of the team. Melissa Reddy of Sky also reported that there are no surprises and the star is training at full capacity ahead of the clash with the Three Lions.

The Three Lions vs Les Bleus clash is being seen as one of the biggest matches of the tournament so far. They met previously in the semi-final of the 2018 World Cup in which France won, and later also went on to win the final.

England will look to turn that record around, however, with the PSG forward back and ready for a start on Saturday, they will have a tough task at hand.
