India succumbed to their largest-ever defeat at home, as South Africa beat them by 49 runs in the 3rd T20I. Asked to bat, South Africa posted their highest total onboard against India, due to the maiden century by Rilee Rossouw. However, commentators during the match noted that the stark difference between the two sides was not batting, but fielding.

India missed many run-out chances, including one in the first ball itself when opener Quinton De Kock could have been out. He was well beyond the crease when he played the ball to mid-off and sprinted off for a single, but Shreyas Iyer missed a direct hit. Mohammad Siraj also dropped a sitter, when Rossouw was just at 24 runs.

On the other hand, South African players displayed a different level of athleticism while they were bowling. Tristan Stubbs took a brilliant diving catch to send world No. 2 batter Suryakumar Yadav back to the pavilion before he could take the game away from the visitors.

Many Indian fans spotted this and soon enough, social media was filled with tweets about India’s sloppy fielding. Here’s a look at a few of them.
