With his third century in the format, Yadav surpassed KL Rahul to become the Indian with the second-highest century total in T20 Internationals. Suryakumar Yadav’s family:

Yadav’s family is from Maharashtra. His father moved to Mumbai from Uttar Pradesh for a job at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Yadav was 10 years old at the time. Yadav discovered the game while playing in the streets of Chembur. He then went to the Elf Vengsarkar Academy of former international cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar and played age-groupgroup cricket in Mumbai. He attended Pillai College of Arts, Commerce, and Science.

For the Parsi Gymkhana Cricket Club in Mumbai, Yadav participated in club cricket. He played club cricket in Mumbai for clubs like Shivaji Park Gymkhana Club and Dadar Union Club in addition to Parsi Gymkhana and the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited team.

He scored 73 on his first-class cricket debut for the Mumbai cricket team during the 2010–11 Ranji Trophy.
