Chris Olave, wide receiver of the New Orleans Saints, took a bad hit against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. The two sides locked horns at the Acrisure Stadium.

Damontae Kazee of Pittsburgh levelled Olave as the WR tried to make a catch in the second half. The safety was whistled for unnecessary roughness.

Olave’s head hit the ground but got up immediately. He was however not taken off field for concussion checks.

“How did that guy who hit Olave get away with it? Poor Chris might have CTE. I hope he’s okay. Man those refs don’t care about concussions but they care about fake “roughing the passenger”” a fan questioned.

“every time i see chris olave he’s taking a potentially career ending head shot on the sideline,” another one added.
“Hits on Defenseless player penalties should also carry an Unsportsmanlike penalty with the risk of ejections. That type of hit on Olave and the defender running off smiling should never be a thing,” a third one added.

Concussion protocols this season came up after Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a head injury in consecutive weeks.

As per the Mayo Clinic, ataxia is a “poor muscle control that causes clumsy voluntary movements. It may cause difficulty with walking and balance, hand coordination, speech and swallowing, and eye movements.”
