In the first half of Saturday’s Game 6, the Boston Celtics faced the Miami Heat. Despite an injury scare involving centre Robert Williams III, the Celtics went into the locker room with a 57-53 lead.

Williams saw only nine minutes of action in the first half. During those minutes, he did, however, deliver one of the most thunderous dunks of the postseason.

Williams III had seven points and two rebounds in the first half. Jayson Tatum led the way with 25 points, three rebounds, and three assists, while Jaylen Brown chipped in 11 points and six rebounds.

Gabe Vincent and Caleb Martin, the Heat’s only double-digit scorers at the time, led the team in the first half. Heat star forward Jimmy Butler was held to fewer than ten points in the first half.

After halftime, TNT’s broadcast team announced that Williams III had been cleared to return. The Celtics were already missing guard Malcolm Brogdon, who had no points and missed both of his shots in Game 5. According to Celtics insider Keith Smith, Brogdon was eventually ruled out due to a right forearm strain.

As reported, Williams III averaged 8.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.4 blocks while shooting over 74%. Prior to Saturday night’s game, he had been averaging 7.5 points per game in the playoffs.
