Sportspersons in India are coming together to support victims of Assam and Bihar floods by auctioning their prized possessions. In a video posted by Virat Kohli on Twitter, he is joined by Sania Mirza, KL Rahul, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shubman Gill, Harmanpreet Kaur and others to pledge to help the flood victims.
Kohli, has put up a pair of bats that he used while representing India up for auction. Test specialist Wriddhiman Saha is giving his signed jersey, while Kuldeep Yadav has put up the ball with which he picked a hat-trick and Chahal is giving the ball through which he took five wickets in the match against South Africa in 2018.
India’s most loved Tennis sensation Sania Mirza has put up her tennis racquet for auction with which she had won the Australian Open women’s doubles title in 2016. On the other hand, Harmanpreet Kaur is giving away her 100th T20I jersey and KL Rahul has kept the bat with which he scored IPL’s fastest half-century at the auction.
In the video titled #WeAreTogetherForAssamAndBihar, Kohli has written, “Our countrymen need us in these troubled times. Let’s do our part in helping them.”
The auction is being held by Cornerstone India and is open till August 7.
