Security tightened in Delhi, 50,000 police and paramilitary forces deployed ahead of ‘chakka jam’

  • Farmers will be blocking national and state highways between 12 pm and 3 pm on Saturday
  • Visual showed heavy police deployment at the Red Fort
  • Entry/exit gates of Mandi House, ITO, Delhi Gate and Vishwavidyalaya have been closed

Security has been tightened and over 50,000 police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in Delhi-NCR region ahead of the ‘chakka jam’, ANI reported. The farmers protesting against the farm laws will be blocking national and state highways between 12 pm and 3 pm on Saturday. 

Delhi Police have tightened security at the city’s border points to maintain law and order. 

Visual showed heavy police deployment at the Red Fort. Extensive barricading measures have also been undertaken across the city.

Meanwhile, water cannon vehicles were deployed at Ghazipur border as a preemptive measure to deal with possible disturbances and drones were being used at borders to monitor the situation.

Meanwhile, entry/exit gates of Mandi House, ITO, Delhi Gate and Vishwavidyalaya have been closed.
