Jitesh Sharma is an Indian cricketer, who was born in Amravati, Maharashtra on October 22, 1993. He plays for Punjab Kings in IPL 2022. 

He made his IPL debut against the Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.

Sharma made his List A debut for Vidarbha in the 2013–14 Vijay Hazare Trophy on February 27, 2014. On 1 October 2015, he made his first-class debut in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy. With 298 runs in seven matches, he was Vidarbha’s best-run scorer in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

He was bought by the Punjab Kings for Rs. 20 lakhs for the IPL 2022 season. He was previously purchased by the Mumbai Indians in the 2016 IPL season. 

Jitesh Sharma had a fantastic season in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022 season, scoring 214 runs at an average of 53.50 in eight games. He had a strike rate of 235.16, and have amazed a lot of people, and his six-hitting powers were also talked about. His outstanding performance helped Vidarbha reach the semi-finals but unfortunately lost it to Karnataka.

Sharma’s career T20 numbers are also outstanding, with 1329 runs scored in 54 games at an average of 28.27 and a strike rate of 141.83. In T20 cricket, he has eight fifties and one century to his name.

The 28-year-old player is currently the only batsman in the tournament with a strike rate of over 240 (246 to be exact) so far. With 202 runs from Vidarbha and two half-centuries, he is the top run-getter. At No. 5, he has offered the cushion that Vidarbha was looking for. The best thing going for Sharma, in the long run, is that the run-making style that his batting position requires is always in need.
