Miles Bridges entered a no-contest plea on Thursday in Los Angeles to one felony count of harming a child’s parent and agreed to do so in exchange for three years of probation and no jail time.
As part of the agreement, the restricted free agent will also have to complete 100 hours of community service, 52 weeks of parenting education, and 52 weeks of counselling for domestic abuse. He had been charged with three felonies: the one he didn’t contest and two others for abusing children in situations or settings that were likely to result in serious physical harm or death.

According to the district attorney for Los Angeles County, the accusations came from claims that he abused his girlfriend in front of their two children in June.
Who is Miles Bridges?
Miles Emmanuel Bridges Sr. is a professional basketball player from the United States who was last with the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association, (NBA). He represented the Michigan State Spartans in collegiate basketball.
He is from Flint, Michigan, and played high school sports for Flint Southwestern Academy during his freshman year before transferring to Huntington Prep School for his sophomore, junior, and senior years. Bridges was chosen by the Los Angeles Clippers with the 12th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, however on draught night, he was traded to the Charlotte Hornets.

Miles Bridges was born on March 21, 1998, to Cynthia and Raymond Bridges in Flint, Michigan. When he was two years old, his father Raymond, a two-time basketball state champion at Flint Northern High School, introduced him to the sport. Miles said that Tara Rushing, his sister, played a significant role in his upbringing.
Bridges attended Woodland Park Academy in Grand Blanc, Michigan for middle school. He worked out at the neighbourhood YMCA at the age of 12 alongside Keith Gray, his high school coach, and future teammates.
Bridges was picked as the 12th overall pick out of Michigan State in 2018 averaging 13.4 points and 5.6 rebounds a game over the last 4 seasons. During the 2021-22 season, he averaged 20.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 35.5 minutes per game in 80 matches.

This was his career-best season as he increased his scoring average by 7.5 points per game from the 2020-21 season. He was named the Eastern Conference player of the week in the first week of the season.
He was also among the league leaders in terms of Paint points scored, tallying 840 of those points. This ranked him Sixth in the NBA this season.
