‘Yaar, bata de’: Students await decision on Class 12 board exams

As students await a verdict on the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 Board Exam 2021, which was delayed due to an increase in COVD-19 cases across the nation, Twitter is rife with memes and jokes on the matter.

Though Union Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced on Twitter on Sunday that he would be virtually holding discussions with State Education Secretaries on May 17, 2021, at 11 am, a conclusion has not been reached on the matter. 

Although several students and parents have called for the exams to be cancelled due to the deadly virus, some have jumped on the Twitter bandwagon to share memes and jokes while waiting for a decision.

#CancelExamsSaveStudents has been dominating Twitter trends for the past few days.

Because of an increase in COVID-19 cases, the CBSE board cancelled class 10 exams and delayed class 12 exams in April.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a high-level meeting that made the announcement. The exams, which are typically held in February-March each year, were set to begin on May 4.
