Joe Biden announced the Inflation Reduction Act’s passage with a social media post on Wednesday. His former boss Barack Obama joined the celebration and wrote “This is a BFD”, which is slang for “Big F*****g Deal.”

Biden, who was Vice President in Obama’s administration, was quick to respond to the retweet. He wrote, “Thanks, Obama.” The White House also shared a collage of the conversation in an Instagram post, which a photo of Biden and Obama jogging.

Biden and Obama are known to frequently make jokes at public events. The Democratic duo shared a “BFD” moment in 2010, after Obama had signed a landmark Affordable Care Act. A hot mic caught then-Vice President Biden saying that it was a “big *****g deal.”

Obama visited the White House in April this year, more than five years after his term ended. The jokes continued. While inviting Obama to the podium, Biden jokingly said, “Let me remind you, it’s a hot mic.”

Obama did not hold back. He warmed up the crowd with a few deadpan jokes about how things around the White House had changed under Biden, leaning into the current occupant’s affinity for sunglasses, ice cream and his taste in pets.

He quipped that Secret Service agents now have to wear aviator sunglasses, the White House mess has been replaced by a Baskin-Robbins and “there is a cat running around.”

“I guarantee you Bo and Sunny would have been very unhappy about it,” Obama added, referencing his family’s dogs. Obama also reminded Biden that he was once the boss. “Thank you, Mr. Vice President”, he said after getting on the stage. He referred to Biden as “Barack Obama’s Vice President” multiple times throughout his speech in the White House East Room.
