Funeral for baby “Madison” found dead inside garbage truck in Plain City, Ohio
The Plain City community came together on Saturday morning to grieve the untimely passing of an unidentified baby.
The infant’s body was found in a Plain City garbage truck a week earlier, which had left the neighborhood in a gloomy mood. The infant’s body was found on June 15 in the garbage truck’s back collection area that was parked in the 100 block of Bluestem Lane. Medical workers arrived on the scene and pronounced the infant dead.
City leaders and hundreds of locals came to the Ferguson Funeral Home to pay tribute to and grieve the loss of the newborn girl. More than a hundred people gathered to pay their respects and offer assistance during this terrible time.

The residents of Plain City chose to give the infant a name during the funeral and burial rites, referring to her as “Madison.”
The Plain City first responders organized the last rites for baby Madison. These loyal first responders circled the coffin and gave a salute in remembrance as the casket was lowered. The hearse moved towards Forest Grove Cemetery in front of a lengthy line of hundreds of cars.
Police chief Dale McKee in a statement said, “This is the way Plain City is. In time and need Plain City always comes together like this so this really isn’t surprising for me. I’m glad that everybody showed up that did show up today.”

Lisa Galden, a resident of Plain City, reacting to the tragic incident said, “It’s heartbreaking. It’s a tragedy. Every life is precious and we need to respect every life.” She also thanked everyone who attended the rites, “So thankful for the leaders that we have here, our first responders, the policemen and the firemen, and everybody that’s been a part of this.”
The investigation is the case is still underway, as confirmed by police officials.
