Puppy Bowl 2021: Who won the dramatic match between Team Ruff and Fluff

The 17th
Puppy Bowl was won by Team Ruff
on Sunday. The match has a dramatic end with Ruff scoring 73-69 against Team Fluff. Falling
behind by three points with under a minute left, Big
Boss Paulie, who is a mix of American Staffordshire Terrier, and Dutch
Shepherd of Team Ruff raced towards the goal as the clock ran out. The captain
of Team Ruff won a “Chewy Lombarky Trophy”, reported CNN.

A total of 70 puppies from 22
shelters participated in the match of Sunday. Puppies were divided into two
teams who were placed in a canine-sized football stadium to challenge for “touchdowns”.
The human commentary was provided
by ESPN play-by-play announcer Steve Levy and SportsCenter host Sage Steele. Snoop
Dogg and Martha Stewart who are longtime friends were the hosts and Dan
Schachner was the game’s “rufferee.”

The event also featured a
national anthem performance, a halftime show, play-by-play commentary and a
“rufferee”. All the puppies and kittens who participated for
the past 16 events were adopted, reported CNN.
First lady of United States Jill
Biden also features in the event, who shot a public service announcement with two first dogs, Major
and Champ. Major is also believed to be the first shelter dog to join the White
House.
