An orthopedic surgeon was shot and killed by a patient on Tuesday afternoon at a clinic in a Memphis suburb, according to the police. The accused patient has been identified as Larry Pickens.

Larry Pickens is 29 years old and hails from Memphis. He has been charged with first-degree murder for killing an orthopedic surgeon at a clinic in Collierville.
After the shooting incident at Campbell Clinic in Collierville, Tennessee, the perpetrator was captured, according to Collierville police chief Dale Lane. First-degree murder and severe assault are the charges that Larry Pickens is formally accused of committing. His bond has been set by the police at $1.2 million.

Police officers arrived at the scene shortly after 2 p.m. It was discovered that the suspect had spent several hours at the clinic as a patient before the shooting took place. Dale Lane, the chief of police in Collierville, said the assault appeared to have a definite goal. At the time of the suspect’s arrest, he was in possession of a weapon.
Tennessee Senate Minority Leader Raumesh Akbari (D-Memphis) stated on Tuesday that a witness had claimed that Pickens had been intimidating a clinic employee for a week. The cause of the accused’s actions has not yet been revealed.

Police officials in Collierville report that no one else was wounded during the incident. Campbell Clinic employees received appreciation from Police Chief Dale Lane for their response during the shooting. He asserted that the staff members acted in accordance with their training, successfully protecting others, despite the fact that several patients and staff members were present at the clinic throughout the incident.
