The Father won the BAFTA 2021 Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. The movie is directed by Florian Zeller with Christopher Hampton, Florian Zeller being the screenplay writers.

The other nominees in the Adapted Screenplay category for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards this year included:
The Dig directed by Simon Stone; the screenplay of the movie has been written by Moira Buffini
The Mauritanian directed by Kevin Macdonald and Rory Haines, Sohrab Noshirvani, MB Traven are the screenplay writers of the movie
Nomadland directed by Chloé Zhao, who is also the screenplay writer of the movie
The White Tiger directed by Ramin Bahrani, who is also the screenplay writer of the movie
The BAFTA Awards has been presenting awards for Best Adapted Screenplay since 1968.
