Arsenal defender Pablo Mari and at least four others were injured by a knife-wielding perpetrator at a Carrefour supermarket in Assago, a part of the Metropolitan City of Milan.

What happened?
The attack happened inside a Carrefour supermarket at a local shopping center in Assago. Customers were heard screaming as they tried to flee from the knife-wielding attacker.
Reportedly, the attacker was a 46-year-old man with mental health issues. Police said there was no terrorist aspect to the attack, according to a BBC report. He allegedly started stabbing people at random.
The attacker was wrestled to the ground by several customers at the Carrefour supermarket and was later handed over to the police who had arrived at the scene.
What time did it happen?
The attack occurred at a Carrefour Supermarket at around 6:30 pm in the evening (local time).

How many people were hurt?
At least one person died, while four others suffered injuries. Pablo Mari was amongst the injured who were rushed to the hospital. However, the Arsenal centre-back did not suffer serious injuries as he was reportedly responding to people. The wounds suffered in the attack weren’t serious but they were deep, according to a Sky News report.
Has anybody issued a statement?
An Arsenal player, Mari is currently on loan to Serie A top-rated team Monza. The team’s chief executive, Adriano Galliani issued a statement on Twitter, which read, “Dear Pablo, we are all here close to you and your family, we love you, keep fighting as you know how to do, you are a warrior and you will get well soon.”
His home club also released a statement, that read:
“We are all shocked to hear the dreadful news about the stabbing in Italy, which has put a number of people in hospital including our on-loan centre-back Pablo Mari.
We have been in contact with Pablo’s agent who has told us he’s in hospital and is not seriously hurt.
Our thoughts are with Pablo and the other victims of this dreadful incident.”
