- Jonathan Swift landed on his dream job with his out-of the box application
- The 24 year old creatively printed his resume on flyers and placed them on every car
- Instant Print, the UK based company, shared the CCTV footage on their twitter handle
Instant Print took to Twitter to share the CCTV footage of a jobseeker’s creative attempt in sending his application.
The goal of every jobseeker is to garner the attention of employers and land their dream jobs. They often come up with out of the box ideas or creative ways of sending applications for the same. They create their own style of applications which differ from the standard procedure of sending emails or letters to companies.
Jonathan Swift was applying to Yorkshire-based printing specialists at Instant print, a printing house in the United Kingdom. In order to make sure he stood out from the rest of the applicants, the 24 year old recycled the company’s flyers by printing his LinkedIn resume on them.

Instead of emailing his resume, he printed it on flyers and placed them on every single car in the company’s parking lot. His stunt was noticed by the Marketing manager of the company.
Craig Wassell, who was in charge of hiring for the position, noticed the jobseeker’s antics on CCTV when advised by security. Upon taking a closer look, he was impressed by Swift’s application and immediately called him for an interview.

The footage shared by the company shows Swift placing the application on cars. Wassell spoke how he noticed someone leaving flyers on all the car windscreens and later realised it to be an application for the role he was hiring for. Jonathan Swift’s genius attempt had earned him the interview.
Wassell also wrote that the applicant became the talk of the office ever since the CCTV clip was circulated among other members. “He’s been the talk of the office since covering everyone’s cars in CVs. I love it when we get a #creativejobapplication”, said Wassel.
With his creative thinking, Swift landed on his dream job among the 140 other applicants.
