About 8 people have been shot in a case of gunman opening fire in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, including 6 adults, and 2 juveniles. The crime took place at the 5700 Warrington Avenue, according to reports.
Police report multiple fatalities after at least 8 people were shot in Philadelphia by a suspect wearing a bullet proof vest. According to report, police have arrested a suspect. The indiscriminate firing has reportedly left at least four people dead.
Reports say shots were fired in the area of 54th and Chester in the city’s Kingsessing neighborhood around 8:30 pm.
The suspect in custody was armed with handgun, rifle, and multiple magazines and was wearing bulletproof vest. Shooting occurred for multiple minutes as the suspect walked down multiple blocks. The suspect was brought into police custody on the 800 block of Frazier Street.
Police also have a second male in custody armed with a gun in the area but its unclear if he was involved in the mass shooting
One of the victims reportedly attempted to shoot back, but was unable to neutralize the gunman. The police have not yet revealed the man’s identity or confirmed if other suspects were involved.
Police took several victims to Penn Presbyterian Hospital and a juvenile to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
