The first half of Game 5 of the NBA Finals saw plenty of
drama. But the star of the first half was outside the arena, in the stands: A
Suns fan counting $100 bills with the crowd during Giannis Antetokounmpo’s free
throw counts sent the internet in a tizzy.
While Giannis was at the line for his free throw, a Suns fan
began to count money while Antetokounmpo went through his routine. He and the
fans counted up to 12, which was how long it took the Greek basketball player
to attempt a shot.
Antetokounmpo missed the free throw, the money counting
tactic might have thrown him off.
One of the main tops of conversation in the NBA playoffs has
been Giannis Antetokounmpo’s free throw routine. The star forward has been
called out numerous times for taking longer than the allotted 10 seconds during
a free throw.

The stadium was bursting with cheery crowds since the
beginning of game 5. Spirits ran high and loud music blared through.
The match however went the way of Milwaukee Bucks as Giannis
carried the day having amassed 32 points with nine rebounds and six assists,
including a game-sealing alley-oop dunk to lead the Bucks to a wild 123–119
Game 5 win over the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Finals.
Antetokounmpo was ably assisted by Khris Middleton who scored
seven of his 29 points in the game’s final minutes to suppress Phoenix’s comeback
attempt. Jrue Holiday added 27 points.
The Milwaukee Bucks are one victory away from laying claim
to their first title since 1971. Tuesday night will decide if the Bucks can get the
job done or if there’s a Game 7.
