On the fourth day of the 2020 Democratic National Convention,
New Jersey Senator Cory Booker talked about the current economic crisis and how
millions of Americans have lost their healthcare because of the crisis. “Last
week Donald Trump said, and I quote ‘our economy is doing good’. While 40
million Americans are at risk of losing their homes, 30 million aren’t getting
enough to eat and 5.4 million people have lost their healthcare because of this
crisis. He has failed us,” Booker emphasised.

Booker, a one-time 2020 presidential candidate, said that Joe
Biden and Kamala Harris know the dignity of all working American and together they
will raise the minimum wage so that no one in America lives in poverty.

“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris know the dignity of all working
Americans. They know the urgency and the demand of our dream,” Booker said.

“Working people are under attack, the wealth gap grows,
our middle-class shrinks and poverty persists,” the New Jersey senator
added.

“But still I believe in the dream of our ancestors, together
with Joe and Kamal in the White House, we will raise the minimum wage so that no
one who works a full-time job in America lives in poverty. Together we will
fight for those to keep us healthy, keep us safe, teach our children to stand
for those who cook, serve and clean, who plant and harvest who pack and always those
who deliver,” Booker said.

“Let’s now work together, stand together and America, together,
we will rise,” Booker concluded.
