United States President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden welcomed cat Willow to the White House on Friday.
“Willow is settling into the White House with her favorite toys, treats, and plenty of room to smell and explore,” said Michael LaRosa, the first lady’s spokesperson.
The two-year-old grey and white farm cat is from Pennsylvania. She has been named after the first lady’s hometown, Willow. She joins a long line of White House pets, which have included German shepherds Commander, Champ and Mayor, ponies, horses, and cats.
Willow is the first feline since George W Bush’s cat named ‘India’. Presidents James K. Polk and Donald Trump were the only people in office who did not have pets, reported Associated Press. Take a look at some of these White House family members.
