A blast occurred outside Punjab Police’s intelligence office in Mohali on Monday night, PTI reported, quoting sources.
A rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) was reportedly thrown at the third floor of the building, causing a blast that shattered windows. The area has been cordoned off and higher authorities, along with a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory, have reached the spot.
There was no report of injury to anyone so far.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has asked for a detailed report from the police.
Meanwhile, several political leaders of Punjab have reacted to the incident.

Former Punjab CM Amarinder Singh tweeted, “Shocked to hear about the blast at the @PunjabPoliceInd Intelligence headquarter in Mohali. Thankfully nobody was hurt. This brazen attack on our police force is deeply concerning and I urge CM @BhagwantMann to ensure perpetrators are brought to justice at the earliest.”

Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa wrote, “Tragic news! Just a week after Patiala’s clash; now a blast outside Intelligence Bureau, Mohali Punjab Police instead of chasing Bagga should focus on state security. Punjab is a border state & Kejriwal shouldn’t experiment with its peace.”

The attack comes a day after an explosive device packed with around 1.5 kg of RDX was recovered by the state police in a village in Tarn Taran district. The IED was also equipped with timer, detonator, battery and sharpnels, police said, adding they averted a possible terrorist attack in the border state with the arrests and the recovery.
