Daniel Radcliffe and Harry Potter go hand in hand, and we probably cannot associate anyone else with the movie series more than him. However, the last Harry Potter film came out almost a decade ago and it’s about time we moved on from associating Daniel with nothing by that.
On Daniel’s 31st birthday, here are some of his best films you can watch that are NOT Harry Potter.
Swiss Army Man (2016)
This Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert directorial is bizarre, and bold to say the least. Daniel played the role of a corpse (yes, really) in what can be called his most challenging movie yet, alongside Paul Dano. The amazingly powerful performance of our ‘Harry Potter’ makes this rare movie even better.
Lost in London (2017)
Daniel Radcliffe’s role in this movie was not a big one– but that did not stop him from leaving a mark with his acting. This one-shot directorial by Woody Harrelson narrates the story of his real-life persona, and is widely considered one of the most risky yet successful projects of the director.
What If (2013)
Also called ‘The F-word’, this Daniel Radcliffe starrer premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was one of the most acclaimed films that year. Narrating the story of two best friends who realise they have feelings for each other, the movie stands out because of the acting and chemistry between Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan, as well as its dialogue.
Trainwreck (2015)
With another short-lived yet powerful performance by Radcliffe, Judd Appatow’s ‘Trainwreck’ is a romantic comedy which also stars Bill Hader, Amy Schumer and John Cena. Radclife plays the role of ‘The Dogwalker’, which is a movie within the movie, and delivers a multi-layered performance in that.
