Paul Thomas Anderson is up to a whopping 11 career Oscar nominations with his three nominations for Licorice Pizza in the best picture, directing and original screenplay. Kenneth Branagh duplicated those exact mentions for his film Belfast which had the British filmmaker making history as the first person to be nominated in seven different Oscar categories. He has eight total nominations in his career, with no win yet.

The seven men presently competing for this award are all men, making this the category’s first all-male field since 2017. The two other groups to whom this has applied in the last ten years are those from 2013 and 2015.

The 94th Academy Awards are upon us, and this year’s ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, where it all began. The presentation honouring the greatest in movies will be hosted by Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, and Regina Hall. The Oscars 2022 will be placed on March 27, Sunday, in Los Angeles, however, the event will be broadcast live in India on March 28, Monday, in the early hours of the day.
